Taylor Vieweg
Hi! I'm Taylor Vieweg. I was born and raised in Long Island, New York, where there was a strong contrast between the fast pace city life and the peacefulness of the coastline on Long Island. The combination of the two, however, definitely opened many doors of opportunity for me. Through high school, I worked with many youth sports organizations, as a sports photographer. And in 2021, I moved to Boulder, Colorado, and the quick change of scenery brought a new dimension to my creativity. The vision of mountains and open land has continued to inspire me to explore through my camera lens.
The beauty of Boulder’s landscapes has become both a source of inspiration and a metaphor for the inner transitions I’ve undergone since moving. I have continued to work as a sports photographer for many of CU Boulder's sports teams, and I have started to photograph new textures and moments of nature in an effort to reflect the raw beauty that Colorado has to offer. I have also gotten the opportunity to work with some of my favorite celebrities working as a concert photographer!
Through art, I seek to explore the relationship between place and personal growth. Each piece represents a moment of reflection on how landscapes influence self and creative expression. By blending skills and elements from familiar environments of my past with the new and unknown, I hope to encourage viewers to reflect on how their own surroundings shape their identity. Through all forms of art, I believe photography is an opportunity to freeze special, raw moments in time. Technology today opens so many new doors especially in photography. It allows you to take a captured image and portray it to others as you see it in your own head. I'm eager to continue pushing my creative boundaries and embracing the inspiration that my life in Boulder has to offer!
